Yachting in Turkey: The Adventure That Changed Everything

You know, there are some trips that leave a mark on your soul. When you stand on the deck, feeling the salty wind on your lips, and the turquoise water stretches to the horizon… This was one such adventure – a week on a yacht along the Turkish coast.

I would call the first day of the holiday “Marmaris – the Start of a Dream.” We arrived at the marina in Marmaris early in the morning; the city was just waking up, enveloping us in a pleasant aroma of freedom, lightness, and tranquility. But as soon as we stepped aboard the yacht, the world changed. A snow-white deck, cozy cabins, the sound of waves… We had barely stocked up on fresh fruit, wine, and seafood when the captain was already preparing to take us out to the open sea.

The first hours are euphoria. You realize: that’s it, no fuss, no tourist noise. Just you, the sea, and the wind. When the sun set below the horizon, we opened a bottle of wine and just sat in silence – I had never seen such a starry sky.

Waking up in silence, opening the hatch, and seeing crystal-clear water around – that’s true happiness. Breakfast was fresh strawberries, cheese, and hot Turkish tea. Then into the water. Swimming directly from the yacht, snorkeling among colorful fish, walking along deserted beaches.

There are no hotels, restaurants, or crowds here. Just nature. In the evening, the captain grilled the fish we had caught, and the sunset was such that it seemed like time had stopped.

The next stop was mysterious Simi. Here, people once lived, but now there are only abandoned stone houses and ancient churches. We wandered through the streets, inhaling the scent of salty air and history. Spooky? Perhaps. But incredibly beautiful.

On the way back, we dropped anchor in a bay. Swimming in warm water, a gentle breeze, a glass of cold white wine… That’s what absolute happiness looks like.

Unforgettable Göcek

We had barely recovered from Simi when we arrived in Göcek. Göcek is a different Turkey. Luxury yachts, stylish restaurants, expensive boutiques. During the day, we walked along the embankment, tried the freshest oysters, and admired the liners that cost as much as an entire island.

But in the evening, we went back to sea – to a quiet lagoon where we were alone. Lying on the deck, listening to the splash of waves, you understand: this is true luxury.

The fifth day of our unforgettable journey, we arrived in Ölüdeniz, a place of dreams. Turquoise lagoon, soft sand, and mountains from where dozens of people soar into the sky on paragliders. Of course, I couldn’t resist.

My first flight – and your heart sinks when you take off from the ground. And then… Then you’re soaring above the azure sea, seeing your yacht below and feeling – you’re alive and free from the hustle and bustle of routine. This feeling is impossible to convey in words.

Before returning home, the last adventure. Kekova – an ancient sunken city. We boarded kayaks and glided over the ruins, seeing the outlines of houses, columns, and stairs underwater.

It’s like a journey through time. There’s complete calm in your head. And in your heart – the understanding: this vacation was something special. I am very grateful to fate for helping me find this tour; the experiences I gained will last for a long time. Also, between us, I found new friends there, and we are already planning our next adventure.

Is a yacht tour the best type of vacation? I will definitely tell you yes! Freedom and adventure, that’s what I was looking for and found.
